Founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has advised governors of the South-East zone to keep their vigilantes at alert to check the early invasion of the herdsmen that have been attacking the zone and other parts of the country.
He also urged Ndigbo and members of MASSOB to remain calm despite the recent attack on women and other people in Umunze, Anambra State by Fulani herdsmen in the area.
Uwazuruike, who spoke through his Director of Information,Sunday Okerafor in Owerri yesterday maintained that the Fulani herdsmen were only trying to cause anarchy and disaffection in the South East through their constant attacks.
He further stated that the attacks were deliberately aimed at provoking his members to resort to violence but affirmed that MASSOB would never lose its focus, rather would be spurred to continue its non-violent approach to attaining its freedom.
Uwazuruike, however, warned Ndigbo to be wary of the constant attacks, noting that it was the same way the Fulani conquered most of their territories.
“I am not surprised at their ploy; they did the same thing some decades ago, killing Hausa leaders and replacing them with their own tribes and now want to repeat same in Igbo land; they would not succeed”, Uwazuruike stated
