$2.1 BILLION ARMS DEAL| PDP Urges Buhari To Uphold Rule Of Law

by on December 4, 2015

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated in clear terms that it was not against the arrest of its members accused of corruption, however, the Party called for fairness and transparency in the investigation and trial processes.

While reacting to Raymond Dokpesi’s arrest over alleged involvement in financial deals with Col Sambo Dasuki, (rtd) PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh, said that the party was completely in support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war.

He further stated that “citizens arrested should not be presumed guilty until after due investigation and trial”, adding that government must prove the charges it had filed.

“We have made it clear that we are completely in support of the anti-corruption drive. We are not saying anything against it, all we are saying is let it not be as if people have already been presumed guilty”.

He however said that PDP would not defend or exonerate anyone.
