Alex Iwobi relishes ‘Man of the Match Award’

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has earned himself more praises after his scintillating performance for Arsenal in their 3-0 win over London rival, Chelsea.

The Nigerian lasted 69 minute before he was substituted by Kieran Gibbs, but for the period he was on. He was by far one of the Arsenal players who made Chelsea look so ordinary.

He had a hand in the second goal scored by Theo Walcott, as it was his defence splitting pass to Hector Bellerin that cut out the Chelsea defence for Bellerin to set up Walcott.

Iwobi was handed the Man of the Match award after the game, the third for the 20 year old since h e made his debut in the league.

“Iwobi offers Arsenal something different. His close control and touch was the difference today” Arsenal legend Ian Wright said.

Alex Iwobi has reacted to the man of the match award he picked up in Arsenal’s convincing 3-0 win over Chelsea in the English Premier League.

The 20 year old Nigeria international showed close skills, fantastic first touch and an eye for a pass for the minutes he was on the pitch as Arsenal ran riot against Chelsea.

Iwobi was substituted to a standing ovation in the 69th minutes by Kieran Gibbs, but despite other players lasting longer and some even the entire duration of the game. He was named as man of the match.

” I am Grateful to be named Man Of The Match in such a game, However there could have been other Man Of The Match as well, Great team performance today”, he noted.
