Anambra State Govt. to Partner with Local Farmers on Cattle breeding

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State says his administra­tion is willing to partner with farmers on cattle breeding.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Afam Mbanefo, stated this on be­half of the governor when he visited the headquarters of Eagle Food Processing In­dustries, Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area.
He said the decision of the government to partner with the farmers was part of the commitment of Gov Obiano to make Anambra another food basket of the nation.
Hon Mbanefo, who was accompanied to Umuchu by Senior Special Adviser to Obiano on Agriculture, Hon Mike Okwuekwe, said the state government is ready to provide every necessary assistance to farmers who are interested in cattle rearing, noting that government has al­ready provided enabling environment for farmers and assisted them in so many ways.
He noted that people of the state have massively embraced farming and queued into the governor’s blue print on agriculture consequent upon the en­abling environment. He said that there are farms everywhere in the state at the moment.
