Andres Iniesta will announce the decision on his future this week.
The Barcelona legend signed a contract for life earlier this season at Camp Nou.
However he can leave at the end of each campaign should he decide to.
Reports suggest Iniesta has received an offer to play in China and is set to leave Barcelona this summer.
The Spanish midfielder netted Barca’s fourth goal as the La Liga leaders won the Copa del Rey by beating Sevilla 5-0 on Saturday.
And following that win, Iniesta declared when he will publicly announce his choice.
“This week I will make the decision public,” Iniesta said.
“There are many emotions, many feelings, many years – I’m happy to be able to give this image and the title. Today the people deserved this.
“I am happy personally and at a collective level. There are very strong emotions, the affection and respect that people have for me is something that I am very much grateful for. As I said, I will try to add this cup to the league.
“This week I will speak about the decision I make, as a person and as an athlete. The affection the people have shown me is priceless.”
Iniesta has won just about everything there is to win at Barcelona and as a Spanish international.
The 33-year-old has lifted the World Cup,two Euros and four Champions Leagues.
He has also claimed eight La Liga titles and came second in the Ballon d’Or in 2010.
Iniesta has spent his whole career at Barcelona, making his debut in 2002.
