APC ; The only means to achieve Igbo Presidency – Okorocha

by on January 30, 2017
Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha at the weekend said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), remains the only platform for Igbo to produce the President of Nigeria.
Rising from a meeting of Igbo political stakeholders in Owerri at the weekend, Okorocha and former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnaman,i in their separate speeches averred that the South East will no longer play a second fiddle but belong to the mainstream of Nigeria’s politics.
Gov Okorocha who was the host said he is overjoyed now seeing prominent Igbo leaders understanding his reasons of earlier aligning himself to the All Progressive Congress (APC) party against condemnations and humiliations from people in the zone.
He noted that people of the zone lamenting about marginalisation were the cause of their problems because of what he described as ‘bad politics’ played in the 2015 General Elections. “Ndigbo lost in 2015 because we played a very bad politics”
The chairman of the APC Governors Forum, however, said it’s not too late to correct the mistakes of the past as he urged Igbo leaders to work in unity to support president Muhammadu Buhari and also fight to reclaim more seats at the National Assembly in 2019.
According to Okorocha, “The only chance for Ndigbo to produce a president is by identifying fully with APC.
Speaking on his feud with business mogul, Sir Emeka Offor, Gov Okorocha noted that he has been able to put that beside him for the interest Igbo progress. “Emeka has been my worst enemy for 3 years; we must know when to make an enemy. Now, we have achieved so much by working together”, Gov Okorocha stated.
