Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala has described signing a contract with WSL side Liverpool Ladies as a “dream come true.” The twenty year old, who is the first African footballer to play in the FA Women’s Super League, is set to make her debut on Wednesday.

It marks the latest chapter in her incredible success story, which has already seen Asisat crowned African Women’s Player of the Year and win the golden boot and player of the tournament at the Under-20 World Cup last year. She also helped her national team to win the African Women’s Championship and qualify for the Women’s World Cup in Canada.
