Bakassi Strike Force Asks Niger Delta Avengers to Suspend Pipeline Bombings

by on June 11, 2016

A group of militants in Akwa-Cross Region under the umbrella of Bakassi Strike Force, have condemned in totality the activities of the Niger Delta Avengers in blowing up pipelines.

The Bakassi militants group says these attacks have a retrogressive effect on the economy of Nigeria.

Leader of the group, Simple Benjamin who was speaking at Esuk Mba, in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State said that the Federal Government should listen to the agitations of the Niger Delta Avengers.

According to him, there is no struggle without a reason and so, government should adopt the approach of the American Ambassador to Nigeria who is an advocate for dialogue as war alone cannot solve their problems in tackling the issue.

The Niger Delta Avengers on Friday said that it has bombed yet another crude oil pipeline belonging to Agip ENI in Bayelsa State, Nigeria’s Niger Delta region. An explosion also rocked a pipeline operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) at Sanomi Creek, in Warri, Delta State on Thursday evening but nobody has claimed responsibility for the blast.

The Niger Delta Avengers, which has claimed responsibility for most of the recent attacks, on Wednesday, rejected an offer to dialogue with the Nigerian government.

Nigeria’s oil output has fallen to a 20-year low due to a series of attacks on oil pipelines in the southern Niger Delta, home to much of the country’s oil and gas wealth, in the last few months.

Daniel, every curse you rain on the NDA members will surely return back to you because you sound like a rich person. You and Obasanjo are enemies of Nigeria and you people will NEVER go unpunished. You are against NDA members because you are scared they are going to reduce all of us (Nigerins) to the same level. Nigeria need the blood of its’ enemies like you to be what it ought to be. You guys will soon go away as PMB and IBB for medical in Ethiopia. God will punish all of you that are against NDA aspirations.

Comment…i am from the niger delta, precisely bayelsa. live here is not easy because of underdevelopment, and the exclusion system of government operated by our leaders.part of which is caused by leaders from the region and then large portion of blame goes to the FG. i am not in support of pipeline vandalism on the other hand am not also in support of FG’s style exclusionalism in administering the affairs of niger delta, the one region which has fed the entire nation and has developed drylands in the north and waste lands in west and pirocial development in east using resources from one region which all of nigeria sees as the nations oil farmland and inhabitors as either farm beggers or people who are not worthy of development. i am aggrieved all past and present leader both from
my region n the FG. but i love nigeria, though the intentions of fathers ,the like of zik and awo is seemingly drifting away, i still believe in one indisolible and indivisible nigeria.in the very hearts and minds of people like me there is one simple sentence, a sentence that expresses in it true meaning the believes and intentions of our founding fathers and that is let there be a TRUE FEDERALISM. i believe it’s the only way we can live in peace. long live the federal republic of nigeria
