Benfica set to sign Nigeria’s Tyronne Ebuehi

Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi is on the verge of joining Portuguese champions, Benfica.
According to reports, Ebuehi was scheduled to be presented to the public after he passed a medical.

Ebuehi, 22, has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs like Olympiacos and Anderlecht as well as English Championship side Norwich City.

His contract at Dutch club ADO Den Haag was due to run out this summer.

Norwich City reportedly were close to signing the player but lost out to Benfica, who it has been gathered, would allow him return to Holland on loan for the remainder of the season.

This is to enable the full-back to keep playing regularly to be sure of making Nigeria’s World Cup final squad.

He played the second half of a 4-2 friendly win over Argentina in November, his second friendly appearance for the Super Eagles.
