The governor of Niger, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has tested positive to the COVID-19 virus.
He made the disclosure via his twitter handle. He also states that he had gone on to self-isolation.
“I have tested positive to #COVID19. I am however asymptomatic and have taken necessary steps by going into isolation.”
The proposed update implies that Mr Bello will now be added to the rank of governors who have already contracted the virus.
Once the virus was contracted, Governors Nasir El-rufai, Rotimi Akeredolu, Kayode Fayemi, Seyi Makinde, Bala Mohammed and Ifeanyi Okowa of the States of Kaduna, Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, Bauchi and Delta respectively.
