Emergency services met a British Airways (BA) flight that had to turn back to Heathrow less than 75 miles into its flight to Nigeria.
BA flight BA83 left Heathrow at 10.30pm last night (November 26) heading to the Nigerian capital of Abuja.
But less than an hour later when the plane was over the English Channel after technical problems were discovered by the pilots.
They elected to turn back to Heathrow and the flight landed again a short time later and were met by emergency services.

Passengers on the flight were put up for the night at Heathrow.
A spokesperson for BA told MyLondon the pilots of the flight elected to return the flight to Heathrow after flight experienced “minor technical issues”.
In a statement BA said: “Our aircraft returned to Heathrow and was met by the emergency services as a precaution after experiencing a minor technical issue.
