Buhari Is A Fraud, Nigerian Senate Reduced To Cinematic Extras – American Lawyer

by on November 22, 2015

In an article that has gone viral around the world, titled ‘Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Dupes the US’, Bruce Fein criticized Nigeria’s leader for “uttering time-worn democracy vows” during his visit to the US, where he promised “to combat graft with procedures that would be “fair, just, and scrupulously follow due process and the rule of law, as enshrined in our constitution.”

It said, “After celebrating fairness, due process, and the rule of law last July to win the goodwill of the United States, Mr. Buhari returned to Nigeria to mock all three in a vendetta against Dasuki, the immediate past National Security Adviser.

“He placed Mr. Dasuki under house arrest. He confiscated his passport. He charged him with firearms and money laundering violations. He sought a secret trial to prevent independent scrutiny.

“He opposed Mr. Dasuki’s pretrial application to the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja for permission to receive urgent medical treatment for cancer in London, but it was nonetheless granted.

“Justice Adeniyi Ademola explained that an accused is presumed innocent before trial, and that a citizen’s health is paramount before the law. Mr. Buhari was ordered to release Mr. Dasuki’s international passport.

“Mr. Buhari defied the order. He put Mr. Dasuki’s house under siege, a microcosm of the Bosnian Serb siege of Sarajevo. Mr. Dasuki returned to court. Justice Ademola reaffirmed his order, asserting “My own orders will not be flouted.”

“Mr. Buhari has not yet budged. As a military dictator in 1985, he similarly seized the international passport of Chief Obafemi Awolowo to thwart his travel for medical treatment, which caused his death in 1987. The more things change, the more they stay the same.”

Calling Dasuki’s situation an “ongoing persecution,” Fein noted disparagingly that “Members of Nigeria’s National Assembly and Senate have been reduced to playing the roles of extras in cinematic extravaganzas.”

Recalling some of the low points of the Buhari military regime in the ‘80s, the publication said the era “was earmarked by chilling human rights abuses,” which it said included, “draconian edicts, exemplified by Decree 20 under which the judicial murders of Nigerian citizens Lawal Ojuolape, Bernard Ogedengbe, and Bartholomew Owoh were authorized.”

READ  Christianity in Nigeria: Irrelevance Looms ~ Zikeyi John

It noted that Ogedengbe was executed for a crime that did not carry the death penalty at the time it was committed in violation of the universal revulsion of EXpost facto laws.

Quoting Nobel Prize laureate Wole Soyinka, the article said “these crimes were executed in defiance of pleas from virtually every sector of Nigeria and the international community—a grisly precedent for subsequent dictator Sani Abacha’s hanging of Ogoni activist Ken Saro-Wiwa in contempt of international opinion.”

It further noted that Buhari’s brutal military dictatorship was overthrown in 1985, adding, “Mr. Dasuki played a key role. Dictators do not forget. Fast forward to today.”

According to Fein, “if Mr. Buhari flouts Justice Ademola’s order with impunity, judicial independence will be fatally compromised and Nigeria’s embryonic democratic dispensation will be stillborn.”

“The judiciary is the only branch capable of checking limitless executive power—the bane of Africa.”

Fein such actions could work against peaceful transfer of political power on the continent as incumbents would be afraid of being persecuted by their successors.

READ  Medview Airlplane Develops Fault Mid-air, Makes Emergency Landing

“President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration accepted a peaceful transfer of power to President Buhari, a laudable landmark in African politics.

“If Mr. Buhari is permitted with impunity to destroy his political opponents like Mr. Dasuki with tyrannical methods, peaceful transfers of power everywhere on the Continent will become problematic. The incumbents’ risk of political and personal impalement at the hands of their would-be successors will be too high.”

The article concluded by urging the United States to insist on independent human rights observers to monitor Dasuki’s prosecution and trial, and a demand that President Buhari honours his vow to follow due process and the rule of law.

“The stakes are too high to remain silent,” it added.

I am advocate of change but I belong to no political party. I advice Buhari to pay attention to critics. Things have changed since he left power in 1985. If he does not want to destroy all d reputation he has built for himself he should forget about revenge and focus on the economy. Fighting corruption selectively cannot help his anti graft war. Charity begins at home. Let him start d war against corruption from his political party and see who will stand the litmus test.

Comment…The truth about Nigeria is that everyone knows that the fight against corruption is just political method of silencing all his political opponents. If you want everyone to be clean of corruption you have to start from yourself, your family and friends then your political party. The moment it is done everyone will no that you mean business. Your ministers are not angels and we are seeing their actions. Why did the president occupy the position of the Petroleum minster? Since he occupied that position who does he account for the money coming in from the sales? Is it how to fight corruption?

Well advised. If he has ears let him hear. The way he is going, I see him being childish and it wont help issues in this country. Is terrible the manner he is handling issues. People are suffering just for few months of power. The National Assembly is doing nothing.

This is a sort of well articulated write up to expose Nigerian nation as a typical fraud. If the the president of a country is a fraud, then none can be trusted in that country. Nigerians voted for a change. Unfortunate the change slogan is a fraud and a deceit.

Those same ” maggot and blood sucking
batty people of white chicken skin” was d first ur president whom u are defending here went to pay homage and reverence to immediately he took over power, with all APC governors, a crowd that was fighting each other on who must go and who should not go, to the extent that Adams Oshiomhole forgot to iron his “COAT” which was seemingly sown by a capenter because he wants to shake hands with Obama, even my own governor Rochas Okoroawusa was shivering and laughing like a goat that got a bail from the animal court while shaking Obama.

Chief listen if u will care to do so. Those ” maggot and blood sucking
batty people of white chicken skin” as u tagged them are ur masters in all games, if only ur president will exhibit just 3% of their political and democratic xcter and WILL, our country would have moved a step 4wd in d past six months. Think before u talk.

Sir, you wrote the truth about the dictator Buhari who has been taken to the abuse of the Nigerian constitution by arresting citizens without due process. Sir, you did not mention the case of Mr Nnamdi Kanu the director of radio Biafra who has been in the custody of the DSS since October 2015. Please I will like you to also let the world know that the fraudulent Buhari is yet to release the IPOB director.
Thank you so much for this piece.

I’m not surprise cos, the person they rubbed his back with corruptible hands is expected to rubb some people’s back in corruption. Pa Buhari cannot meet masses’ expectation unless he betray his political party agitators who are also agents of corruption. What pain me most is that thieves who pretend to be saints. It is just remain few days for pa buhari to wave gud bye to nigeria either by expiring of his tenure or departure but should that day be glorious exit or regretful. The solution for nigeria’s mess now is re-orientation of citizens on wise decision most expecially youth on wat would be our core change, I want to cite and advise pastors whose their critics are based on political information instead of divine reformation agenda

Right now, Biafran-Youths have more value for a toilet-tissue used by a mad woman-after toilet-than the useless S/E governors and Oha N’eze Ndi Oshi-Na Ndi Ama-Na Ndi Ara, etc.
Their useless meeting today: 22/11/2015 about Biafra, must be based on: (1) how to organise a UN monitored referendum for us (the youths of Biafra) to decide whether to stay in Nigeria or not; (2) the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu our IPOB-leader, (3) Independence of Biafra.
Talks outside that is an insult to Biafran-Youths. S/E governors/Oha N’eze Ndi Oshi-Na Ndi Ama has eaten blood money and are supporting abormination (by kicking against Biafra)!!!
We must continue our protest any time IPOB calls for protest, untill the world/UN intervanes. The day of reconing is coming-when Biafran-youths will match from house to house to kill and destroys all Biafran-leaders who ate Blood-Money to support abormination (by kicking against Biafra)!!! The problem you have is the same problem all you young so called biafrans have. No respect for constituted authority. Every of your leaders according to you are useless even the Ojukwu who was a leader during the first Biafra war was never respected by you and could not even get the support of his own people to get to an elected office when he contested. Every one is a king or igwe in his own right and no one is accepted as leader. When you are able to jointly solve that problem you will make better progress politically in this nation.

I strongly believe that we will someday be liberated from these shackles of gross maginalization in this country, but I do not see it happening under d squadron leadership of Nnamdi Kalu, a guy who blasphemed our Lord JESUS Christ and called him an “Irish Man” d Biafran foundation must be founded on Christ if not it will be a monumental failure and of course I believe that is not what u and I want.

The manner in which the protest is being managed is superb and has Even gotten a place in the books of record as the most peaceful protest group ever to walk the face of the earth. The greatest mistake made in Nigeria was the so hyped educated WEST giving their vote to that fulani Brute. Am still proud of the SOUTH EAST and SOUTH SOUTH,they know better.Buhari did not win any state in the SOUTH SOUTH and SOUTH EAST.
His fellow country man TINUBU whom am sure would be jubilating over the death of AUDU brainwashed his people with the CHANGE slogan which they fell for.And today everything has changed…Empty treasury,no fuel, illegal detention, political witch hunt and assassination, more death by bokoharam, illegal destruction of properties by fulani herdsmen, costly food items..etc. Now the governors cant pay 18,000 minimum wage i.e less than $100 and u guys are still listening to the change these two fools brought to u.
Buhari should go back to Daura and look after his cattle’s times have really CHANGED.

Comment…For the white man, honesty is the best policy, President Buhari got the Americans to support his ambition to be the president of Nigeria by promising to be civil, therefore, if they feel that he has failed to respect certain aspect of his pledge to them, I think they have a right to cry foul after all, they also contributed to his electoral success. I don’t quite like how some over zealous pro Biafran guys criticise the highly respected elders of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and South East Governors forum in a very derogatory language for their position on the Biafran issue. Some of these men you are insulting understand the history of Biafra more than you do, some even took part in the civil war, so they must have analysed it very well before taking that position, Even if we don’t support their position, I don’t think it is enough reason to call them names, it is not in our character to insult elders, so brothers let’s guard our utterances. It seems to me that emotions have taken greater part of some of these youths in such a way that they seem not to understand that they cannot make any progress without the elders who are better informed. God bless My people,

that is just the truth but it is unfortunate that Nigerians do not like truth. The Buhari of a man is a dictator, he regards no rule of law and believes not in any human right. He has violated every law known to man. He flaunts court orders with impunity. Another good example is the case of Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra IPOB, Buhari flaunted three court orders for his release and sir I will wish you will make out time to put up an article like this on the case of Nnamdi Kanu who Buhari is holding extra-judiciously in the camp of his secret police DSS after three court orders to release him so that the world can see the level of Disrespect for law and human right which Buhari is exbiting in Nigeria. UN and good people of the world should step up and help us #Biafrans who have stated it clear that we don’t want to be part Nigeria again. Nigeria it self is sitting on the foundation of fraud.

Biafrans and others hate him from day one and that was why God chose him out of his enemies. Buhari is d president of Nigeria for now says God, he who hates what God has decided should get a rope and hang himself. In as much as I supported d fact dat president Buhari allows Dasuki to go for a treatment, it should not be a forum for d enemies to begin to say all sort of rubbish.
