Ohimai Amaize is a young Nigerian technocrat who has served in different capacities in public service.
At the age of 26, he was the head of Bashorun Dele Momodu’s presidential campaign in 2011 as candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP), making him the world’s youngest presidential campaign manager in modern democratic history according to Wikipedia.
Ohimai has also served as a Ministerial Aide to former ministers such as Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi when he held the reins as minister for Youth Development and later Sports, as well as Senator Musiliu Obanikoro when he served as Minister of State for Defence and later Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Ohimai was a prominent figure in the 2015 presidential elections and played a key role in the social media mobilizing support for his candidate, former President Goodluck Jonathan. He is one of the brains behind the #MeetThePresident event where 5,000 youths met with President Jonathan in Lagos – an event observers say got the APC presidential campaign to refocus its strategy on youth engagement during the campaign.
In the past few days, news about the possibility of Ohimai landing a job as Special Assistant on New Media under President Muhammadu Buhari has gone viral in the Nigerian social media.
This has inspired a series of unending reactions that has seen Ohimai being hotly debated on social media.
I like to congratulate Godwin Ohimai @MrFixNigeria on his appointment as SA-New Media to PMB. Wishing him well in his new function. {smile}

The Presidency is yet to officially react in confirmation or denial of the report. Curiously, Ohimai Amaize, the man in the spotlight has been silent and has declined to make comments over news of the appointment.
