Indications have emerged that President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari on Monday shunned APC National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and went ahead to appoint the General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare as head of his presidential transition team as plans accelerate towards the May 29, 2015 handover by President Goodluck Jonathan to the incoming President.

The news was communicated by a member of the All Progressives Congress, Kayode Ogundamisi, who revealed this via his social media accounts. Inside APC sources revealed to BREAKING TIMES that this development did not go down well with the National Leader of APC, Bola Tinubu who has always frowned at what our sources described as Pastor Bakare’s “inflexible approach to politics.”

However, as the news gained traction in the social media, Mr. Ogundamisi quickly reversed himself stating thus: “Corrected: I am informed @ThisisBuhari appointed Pastor Tunde Bakare “as a member of those to screen nominees into transition committee.”

What is however curious about Mr. Ogundamisi’s edited comment is why the President-Elect would appoint a committee to screen another committee for a routine ceremonial handover event.

According to a YNaija report, “the transitional committee is expected to work with incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in handing over notes and taking care of administrative activities prior to the official handing over of government to Buhari.”

Pastor Bakare was the running mate of Buhari during the presidential elections of 2011.
