President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 undertake a four-day trip to the United Kingdom on appointment with his doctors.
A presidency statement on Monday night confirmed speculation that “in the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the President had a meeting with his doctor”.
The statement, issued by Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, disclosed that “the Doctor requested the President to return for a meeting which he agreed to do”.
Shehu said the President Buhari would return to Nigeria on Saturday, May 12th, 2018.
On his return, the President’s two-day State visit to Jigawa, which was postponed because of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Ward Congresses, will now take place on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th May, he added.
Buhari had last stayed over three months in London for a medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment, which caused national anxiety.
Upon his return, he announced that he had never been so sick in his entire life, and that he received blood transfusion in the course of his treatment.
