Chelsea are preparing a £30m bid for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, as they look to add to their options up front.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claims Chelsea will try and get a deal done this month for the striker, who crucially would not be cup-tied for the Champions League last-16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain.
Milan have not played in European competition so Bacca would be free to line up against the French side, and would provide much-needed competition for Diego Costa.
Bacca only joined Milan this summer after a successful spell with Sevilla, and has scored nine goals in 21 appearances for the Rossoneri.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira.
The Star reports that the Blues have made a £30m for the Brazilian and are confident they will land their man before the end of the month.
Teixeira has scored a magnificent 26 goals in 26 appearances this season, and the Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu admitted he would be powerless to stop the 26-year-old leaving if the right offer came in.
“If there is an offer that will satisfy both player and the club I will fully support his move,” said Lucescu.
One player who looks unlikely to join Chelsea is Corinthians strikerAlexandre Pato .
The Brazilian had been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but according to the Daily Star he will join Liverpool instead.
