The President and Founder of Vision Africa, Bishop Sunday Onuoha, has said that Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, is to be held responsible should Nigeria be islamised as being speculated in some quarters.

The former Secretary of Conference, Methodist Church Nigeria, made the remarks at the weekend while fielding questions from newsmen in Umuahia after a ‘Walk for Peace’ exercise held as part of activities marking his 53rd birthday and the 20th anniversary of Vision Africa.

He said contrary to fears in some quarters, it would be difficult for Nigeria to be islamised more so when the country has a Vice President who is a Pastor”.

According to him, “ If there is a plan to islamise Nigeria and we have a Vice President who is a Pastor, we will hold him responsible. Nigeria is a secular country and I don’t think anybody can islamise her.”

On the violent activities of herdsmen in parts of the country, the cleric called for caution, warning that the menace is capable of consuming Nigeria, if nothing urgent is done to checkmate the ugly trend.

“If we don’t do anything now, it may come to a time when we won’t know what to do”, he said, while recommending the establishment of ranches as a solution to the frequent clashes between herdsmen and farmers.
