The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial disctrict, Shehu Sani has come under public attack in the social media by some members of his constituency after he distributed camels to seven Local Governments under his zone on Thursday.
A member of the Senator’s constituency, tweeting via the handle @abubakar47i expressed his disappointment and displeasure with the Senator’s move. According to Abubakar, “I did not stand on queue under the scorching suns of April to vote for you so you may distribute camels.”
Offended by the observation, Senator Sani responded immediately with a tweet: “I don’t think I’ve ever reached out to you for votes.”
The spat between the Senator and citizen Abubakar continued. “I am disappointed that in 2015, you are distributing camels to your constituents. Ask yourself, would Ben Bruce do so?”, Abubakar asked Senator Shehu.
Senator Sani’s attempt to justify his gift of camels to his constituency was re-echoed in the tweet: “Some shared chickens, some shared rams, some shared goats, some shared cows, some shared pigs, some shared nothing. I chose to share camels!”
Meanwhile, Mr. Sani, while presenting the gifts to representatives of the LGAs at Zango Livestock market in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, dispelled speculation about his ambition to run for governorship of Kaduna State in 2019.
