I read a statement yesterday signed by Mr. Crusoe Osagie on which he attempted to cast aspersions on Chief Dan Osi Orbih, the indefatigable state chairman of PDP Edo state.
We would expect that as the mouth piece of this government, Crusoe Osagie should address the core issues raised by Chief Dan Osi Orbih, but in his usual manner of Journalistic gangsterism, he chose to ignore the pressing issues and delve into cheap blackmail, lies, propaganda, and name calling.
The fact that Crusoe Osagie resorted to using the invitation of Chief Dan Osi Orbih by the EFCC as a cheap blackmail tool and escape route to divert attention from the unprecedented stealing and mismanagement of public funds by the Edo state government, gives credence to the fact that the case against Chief Dan Orbih as widely speculated is politically motivated, and we strongly believe that the judiciary will do justice to the case.
In the meantime, I must remind Mr. Crusoe Osagie that the major issues raised by Chief Dan Osi Orbih, clearly borders on the rising dept profile of Edo state and Edo people demand immediate answers from this government.
If the statements made by Chief Dan Orbih against the state government are lies as Crusoe has claimed, then why can’t he come out with the facts. The state government should tell the Edo people what the current domestic debt the state. Let him tell Edo people what happened to the billions of Naira sunk into the laughingstock situated by the old Central hospital building. Tell Edo people what happened to the N35billion stolen under the guise of the Benin city storm water project etc.
Finally, I also want to renew my call to governor Godwin Obaseki to immediately shop for a reputable spokesman, Crusoe Osagie is not fit to speak for a village chief and Godwin Obaseki should save himself the embarrassment while he can.
