Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, on Tuesday told a tumultuous crowd in front of the Government House which gathered to welcome him that he has galvanized enough momentum to govern the state for the duration of his tenure.
The Governor was welcomed back after a six-week holiday in the United States. He disclosed that the farmers in the state will be supplied with adequate fertilizer this farming season.
He added that he is resolved is to ensure that the state experiences good governance and that more projects will be completed as well. He also made a promise; that the State would never experience hunger again as he assured farmers in the state that the state would be flooded with fertilizer, which would be sold at affordable prices in the open market.
Fertilizer in the state is currently sold at N5,500 at the open market and government sources said the price is expected to remain so both within the open market and the government product so as to stabilize the price and check exploitation by middlemen who divert government products and sell at higher prices in the open market.
