President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has assured that the Super Eagles players will neutralize the potency of Egypt’s duo of Mohammed Elneny and Mohammed Salah in the double header AFCON 2017 qualifying matches between Nigeria and Egypt.
Elneny, who plays for London side Arsenal in the English Premier League and Salah, who plies his trade with AS Roma in the Italian Seria A are the most dangerous players in the Pharaoh’s squad, who the Super Eagles must effectively hold down.
Pinnick disclosed yesterday that the Super Eagles players have given him full assurances that the duo will not click in Kaduna when they clash on March 25 as they have the antidote to whatever they may be coming up with.
The NFF boss said that some Super Eagles players, after watching Elneny play with Arsenal against Barcelona in their European Champions League clash, called him to assure that they have been following the Egyptian match makers and have mapped out their plans to mark them off the match.
He also noted that the federation has prepared very well for the game, adding that his happiness so far has been the type of courage and motivation that is coming from the players.
“In terms of preparation, I can assure you it is beyond 100 percent. We cannot come out here to empty our plans to our opponents. But the most important thing here is the passion these players have for this game. They see it as a fight because they want to go to the Nations Cup.
They have severally called me to write off those dangerous players from Egypt in Arsenal and Roma. One of them told me to forget them, promising that he would mark them out of the game. To me it gives me joy when your players call to give you full assurance about a crucial match of this nature”. He said.
