The founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan are donating $25m (£15.5m) to help fight the Ebola outbreak.
The money will be used by the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’s Ebola response effort in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, the foundation said.
Mr Zuckerberg and Ms Chan are making the grant from their fund at the non-profit Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
Another technology pioneer, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, made a gift of $9m (£5.56m) in September.
