Super Eagles and Monaco defender Elderson Echejiele says his team’s inability to reach a second successive UEFA Champions League group stage was very painful after the French club were eliminated by Valencia 4-3 on aggregate, Tuesday.
In a twitter post yesterday, the former Bendel Insurance star added that the principality club will repay the faith of its teeming supporters by shifting attention to clinching other honours.
“It was painful to have missed out of the UEFA Champions league in such a way (despite winning the return leg 2-1), to our fans, we will repay your faith.” Echejiele wrote on social media.
