Edo Election a fraud, as Governorship Candidates release Statement

by on October 14, 2016
The Forum of Edo State Governorship Candidates has alleged that the result as declared by the Returning Officer declaring Mr Godwin Obaseki as the governor-elect was not a true reflection of the vote of the electorates in the September 28 election.
In a statement by the Forum’s Chairman Hon Omorogieva Gbajumo and Secretary Comrade Cosmos Irabor, described themselves as credible men who will not stoop so low to jeopardize a government formed out of alleged electoral fraud.
Hon Gbajumo recalled that the governor-elect had in an interview stated that he will not accept anybody from the opposition as commissioner into his cabinet, adding that the group will continue to insist on credible poll as it is the case of a true democracy.
According to the statement, “Against the backdrop, we the under listed persons/group and members of the opposition hereby state categorically in the strongest and clearest terms that we are responsible/honourable men and will never have any interest or participate in a government that is a product of electoral fraud as was evident in the just-concluded election where voters were financially induced by your party All Progressive Congress (APC) that preaches ‘War against Corruption’, more so, the result declared by INEC does not reflect the votes and mandates of the electorates.
“For the avoidance of doubt, this group will continue to insist on credible, free, fair elections and good governance as Edo State is greater than any party or individual”, it added.
