EFCC to Quiz Fani-Kayode Overnight

by on May 9, 2016

Reports reaching us states that the embattled former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, will spend the night in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Mr. Fani-Kayode was invited to appear for questioning at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday. He arrived at 9:35 a.m.

Upon arrival, it was gathered that Mr Fani-Kayode was subjected to rigorous questioning by different investigators of the agency.

“Nobody has granted him administrative bail,” one of our sources said. “He is still being questioned and he will be passed to another set of investigators when he finishes answering here.”

“There is more than one case against him.”

Authorities said they’re quizzing Mr. Fani-Kayode over a sum of N840 million allegedly paid into his account on the eve of the 2015 general elections.

Investigators said they suspect the fund was part of the $2.1billion allegedly misappropriated by a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who served as spokesman for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign in 2015, has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, saying “the allegations are baseless, wicked, shameful and irresponsible.”

Last Friday, operatives laid siege to his home in Abuja for eight hours, a move which was  to ensure that he stayed within reach of the anti-graft agency according to source from the efcc’s operatives.
