Enugu Rangers coach, Imama Amapakabo, has advised his players to remain steadfast and not be carried away by their impressive form so far, insisting that it is not yet Uhuru.
The Flying Antelopes, who battled to a 2-2 draw against Abia Warriors last week, will welcome coach Maurice Cooreman and his Akwa United’s Promise Keepers in a week seven match at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu.
Rangers has maintained the top position of the league after six weeks and Amapakabo believes the Flying Antelopes will continue to prove that they are making upward progression as the competition intensifies.
“I think it’s still early days to celebrate, but knowing full well that it takes a whole lot to be champions, we are sure we’ll do the right things that make a champion. And I believe all other sectors of Enugu Rangers will do theirs too”, the former U-17 goalkeeper said.
In other matches, coach Stanley Eguma will lead his Rivers United side to seek glory from the hands of veteran Kadiri Ikhana and his 3SC lads who are still struggling to find their feet six weeks into the season.
Eguma, who lost narrowly, last week against Niger Tornadoes in Lokoja has raised fears about his goalkeepers as they face the Kadiri Ikhana huddle at the Lekan Salami stadium.
Also Ikorodu United will seek to redress their form as they welcome middle placed Giwa FC at the Agege township stadium.
