The FCT Chapter of the Sports Writer Association of Nigeria SWAN has scored the Minister of the FCT, Alhaji Mohammed Musa Bello low in the aspect of sports development in the nation’s capital.

This was cont

FCT Minister,Alhaji Mohammed Musa Bello

ained in a Communique issued at the end of its congress held on Thursday in Abuja. The association expressed concern about lack of sporting activities in the FCT. SWAN believes that his action implies that sports is literally dead in the six Area Councils.

“Congress expressed worry that nothing is going on in the FCT in terms of sports development, and athletes are yet to be called to camp despite the fact that FCT is the host city. Congress also observed that sports is literally dead in FCT despite having sports officers at the six Area Councils; there is no fund and budget for sports developments. It is on record that no sporting activity has taken place in Abuja since the inception of the present FCT administration, rather some part of the facility has been turned into a business venture, where they rent out space for political activities”.
