FC Ifeanyi Ubah beats Plateau United 1-0

 

FC Ifeanyi Ubah yesterday maintained their home invincibility when they defeated the league leaders Plateau United of Jos by a lone goal at the Ifeanyi Ubah International stadium Nnewi-Ozubulu, Anambra state.

The match day 10 of the NPFL encounter lived up to its bidding as the two sides displayed football artistry to the excitement of the fans who trooped to “The Fortress” to be part of the thrilling encounter.

The homers had chances in the early minutes of the match but failed to convert the opportunities.

King Osanga’s set piece in the seventeen minutes of play missed target by the whiskers.

Twenty eight minutes into the half, King Osanga ran rings round the defenders of the visiting Plateau United and was heavily brought down in the eighteen yard box of the visitors.

Prince Aggrey of Anambra Warriors excellently tucked the ball into net for the much needed goal.

On resumption of play after the interval, the two sides made substitutions to fortify their teams.

Fifty six minutes into second half, Godwin Obaje’s brilliant move opened up the defense line of the visitors but goal keeper Dele Ajiboye rose to the occasion, the match remained a ding dong affair until the central referee blew the final whistle.
