Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan were dazed 3-1 by the foreign strike force of FC Ifeanyi Ubah at Nnewi yesterday in a week 4 match of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Brazilian forward, Alberico Barbosa da Silva opened scoring with a free kick in eight minutes into the game. Ghanaian striker Kofi Boakiye doubled it during a goal mouth scramble in the 37th minutes, while Ivorian forward Seka Pascal nodded in Alberico Barbisa da Silva’s corner kick in the 44th minute to send the fans into a frenzy of celebration.
The chairman of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah had earlier ordered that the gates be thrown open to fans, who thronged the venue from across Anambra State.
The hosts left no one in doubt about their determination to beat the visitors as they took the initiative and went into offensive, getting four corner kicks at a stretch.
The match was played majorly in the half of the visiting Oluyole Warriors as they were forced into defensive play following ceaseless attack by the Anambra Warriors.
Shooting Stars pulled out No 22, Moses and brought in 20 shirt, Babatunde to add bite to their attack but that could not change the game as FC Ifeanyi Ubah continued to push for more goals.
Thirteen minutes into second half, 3SC reduced the tally through Nigeria U-20 striker Wasiu Jimoh off Tunde Bright’s assist.
