FIFA RANKINGS | Super Eagles Drop 9 Steps

Super Eagles of Nigeria tumbled nine steps down to place 70th on the latest FIFA rankings released yesterday.

The Nigerian national team, which was ranked 61st in the world in June, also dropped five places in Africa to 17th position in the continent.

The likes of Cape Verde, Uganda and Benin are now above Nigeria in the ratings.

Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying rivals Algeria remains the top team in Africa and 32nd in the world, while Cameroon are seventh in Africa and 53rd in the world.

However, the Super Eagles are above World Cup foes Zambia, who are 23rd in Africa and 88th in the world.

Argentina remains top in the world rankings.Belgium and, Colombia are 2nd and 3rd respectively.
