FLASH| Arik Passenger Found Dead on Arrival

 

A 57-year old man, Albert Nnadi, yesterday died aboard an Owerri-Lagos Arik Air flight.  Mr Albert died shortly before the aircraft landed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.

He was found dead when passengers were disembarking. He was accompanied on the trip by one of his relatives identified as Damien Nwachkwu. Mr. Albert was on his way to Lagos for treatment for obesity.

“When the incident happened, health officials at the airport tried hard to revive the man but he was already dead”. His corpse was first taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) morgue but it got a space at the Lagos General Hospital.

Ola Adebanji who is Arik’s spokesman confirmed the incident, saying the passenger boarded the flight from Owerri in company of a relative.

“He started showing signs of uneasiness midway into the flight. The body has been deposited in the mortuary by the police while investigation into the immediate cause of death is ongoing”, the statement said.
