FLASH| Rev. Fr. Mbaka Transferred, Left Without a Parish

by on January 16, 2016

According to reports reaching us, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has been transferred from his Parish “Christ The King Parish GRA Enugu” and left without a Parish. The controversial Priest was reportedly given residence at Our Lady Of The Rosary Parish Emene Enugu, 2km away from his Adoration Ministry but not as a Parish Priest.

The decision to remove Mbaka is aimed at checkmating his activities which is generating unpleasant wave within the body of Christ and the nation at large.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Offor, the director of social communications of the Diocese, said that there would be general posting and re-posting of priests this year. He added that the Diocese embarks on postings of priests every six years.

“The bishop decides who should be posted where; it has nothing to do with a particular individual. It is a routine practice which is done every six years,” he said.

This development means that Fr. Mbaka has no Parish again and his weekly Wednesday program “Inodey Again” will not be conducted at Christ The King Parish but probably at Adoration Ministry, Umuchigbo Nike Enugu.

Rev. Fr. Ejike Camillus Anthony, Ebenezer Mbaka is a Catholic Priest of Enugu Dioceses. He is the Parish Priest of Christ the King Parish GRA Enugu and the founder and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (Amen).

Father Mbaka is by birth from the noble family of late Chief Humphrey Ogbuefi and Felicia Mbaka in Amata Ituku in Awgu L.G.A of Enugu State. Ogbuefi Mbaka’s family is renowned for their special talent in palm wine tapping in the community (Ituku). Being the only son of the parents his birth was greeted with full encomium and thanksgiving to God. This Special gift to Mbaka Family was named Ejike perhaps in realization of the fact all powers belong to God including that of sex determination.

With the arrival of the new born, his father late Pa Ogbuefi heaved a sigh of relief that at last his successor has arrived. Little did he know that his little infant prodigy had a different covenant with his creator. Right from infancy, the tiny Mbaka, though fully consumed by his domestic chores, still spared enough time to commune with God. He assisted the beloved mother in the kitchen and other domestic duties, accompanied his father to their famous business of wine tapping and ensuring that all that was tapped was sold except the one reserved to entertain their daily visitors.

Once through with the home demands the little Mbaka would quickly ran out to organize their Block Rosary Prayers where he usually assumed the role of Francisco (one of the three children visited by Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima in Portugal in the year 1917) He was also deeply involved in the rejuvenation of Charismatic group in St. Anthony’s Parish Ituku where he led the prayer warrior team. His unassuming nature, great sense of humility and piousity endeared him to the entire Christian Community in Ituku.

At home he was equally loved pampered and generously taken care of for his docility, zeal and dedication to his domestic responsibilities. His father though a pagan at that time cautiously tolerated his local runs in the Christian activities in the town, but as soon as “Cami” declared his desire to join the priesthood the story changed drastically. Pa Ogbuefi and his kinsmen not only opposed the idea but also persecuted their little boy and made life one miserable experience for him. One can pathetically understand his father’s position at the time because as the only son the news of his priesthood quest was tantamount to obituary, that is to say (that) the young man was perpetually lost with the irredeemable consequences of foreclosing their linage (in igbo culture) Ejike was therefore made to pay dearly for his supposedly act of obstinacy and insubordination. Determined, he remained unruffled, undaunted, and resolute to the divine call to serve his creator. After his secondary school education at St. Vincent’s secondary school Agbogugn in Awgu L.G.A of Eungu state, he proceeded to Seat of Wisdom Seminary Owerri and St Joseph’s Ikot Ekpene for his training, and nurturing to priesthood. For want of space his testimony filled life in the seminary schools and the subsequent apostolic works activities and exploits are better consigned to history.

In 1995, precisely on July 29th, Rev. Ejike Mbaka was ordained a priest of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. This historic event marked the triumph of light over darkness to the glory of God. Instantly, the Catholic Church in Nigeria knew that the eagle has landed. The young Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka was posted to the Holy Ghost Cathedral, the headquarters of Catholic Church in Enugu Diocese as the Assistant Diocesan Administration. He not only distinguished himself as a seasoned administrator but also gave the church in Enugu diocese the long desired apostolic spice and fillip to forge ahead. This was a welcome response to the church longed for radical shift from the business as usual ways of doing things and celebrating the Eucharist for her people. This request was duly answered by the arrival of this budding priest as the anointing in him overflew and lubricated all that came in contact with him. People discovered something very special in this young priest and followed him to wherever he went. His office hours at the cathedral expectedly became a beehive of activities as the crowd continually besieged him with one spiritual problem or the other. With this yearning, this young man who feels the pulse of his people started exposing the Blessed Sacrament so as to enable the people pray and receive answers to their requests. He later discovered the need to embark on evangelical missions outside the cathedral with a bid to reaching out to more people. Such moves took him to Capuchin and G.T.C Enugu where he celebrated masses for the congregation. It was at G.T.C that the idea of having adoration to the Eucharistic Jesus was conceived; hence, the birth of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN). It was previously called Word Prayer Centre of the Eucharistic Jesus. Just like the biblical mustard seed, the ministry has grown beyond the little G.T.C hall prayer activities to a global assembly of people of God.

The good, the bad, and the ugly events while at G.T.C Enugu led to the migration to Christ the King Parish (CKP) GRA Enugu, especially with the barbaric and gruesome murder of fourteen (14) adorers (including a pregnant woman) by the Chimaroke administration in Enugu State, May their soul rest in peace amen. It is also worthy of mention that Rev. Fr. Mbaka started and completed both the big church and the parish house at CKP GRA Enugu within a record time of six months. To the glory of God, the Adoration ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN) is happily and permanently situated at Umuchigbo Ije-Nike near Enugu Nigeria through the instrumentality, foresight, doggedness, zeal and commitment of one man, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.

It is germane at this junction to crystallize some of those few salient attributes that made the man what he is today:

Rev. Fr. Mbaka is a strong believer in the power of the Eucharist. For him the Eucharist is the essence, soul and life of the church. He is also of the strong view that prayer is the key to the door of all human requests to heaven. He insists that the people must pray their way out; with his popular injunction to pray until Something Happens (PUSH).

A great philosopher, highly talented, creative, innovative and resourceful mind. A great thinker who can turn out new ideas from near impossible corners. An amiable soul-winner who knows those little things the people need to be happy and fulfilled. Hates discrimination in all its ramification. Relates with all irrespective of class, race, religion, colour etc

A social crusader that believes in the equality of all before God –poor or rich, beautiful or ugly, tall or short, male or female etc
Likes encouraging and giving people opportunity to excel. He is always of the view that the best way to identify the talent in any person is by giving him/her opportunity to perform. A philanthropist and employer of labour. Today it is pretty difficult to successfully count the number of people under his charity- the students, the sick and discharged, the homeless, the widows and orphans, the jobless and many more. He can sit down clear a cheque book of more than ten million naira (N10m) at a seating. In fact people close to him jealously think that Fr. Mbaka is generous to a fault. He even extends his kindness and generosity to his fellow priests.

A great achiever who believes that nothing is impossible with God. Attains unimaginable heights once his mind is made up, very focused and always destination driven. Always an optimist. A celebrated musician and lover of music. Plays original, highly inspirational, creative soul-lifting, librating, sanctifying and prayer focused. In fact once he is at peace, in good mood and inspired you find him chumming out new songs. Most of his songs usually originated while he is sleeping. Has so many albums to his credit and variously honoured by Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PIMAN).

Indomitably energetic. Rev. Fr. Mbaka is hugely blessed with power and energy such that he can talk and work for hours without getting tired. A lover of the word of God. He will readily tell you that his secret lies in the Eucharist and the ever abiding word of God. Hence, he is so familiar with most chapters and verses in the bible such that he can reel them out at will.

Keeps to his words. Very frank, truthful, genuine and honest. Detest falsehood. His yes is his yes. Hates gossip! Serious and humorous. Can crack jokes and bring himself to the level of all. Hates injustices. Fights for the poor and oppressed in the society. Wicked and corrupt leadership disgusts him so much that he wastes no time in fighting and correcting such maladministration. This perhaps informs the ill-informed opinion of those who accuse him of fighting the government. Fr. Mbaka only fights bad and vicious administrations because the problems created by such misrule normally fall back on him. The poor, the unemployed, the oppressed etc will still run to him for one assistance or the other.

Preaches vehemently against equating him with God or giving him the glory that belongs to God (Hyperdulia). In fact he does not tolerate that at all. That is why he always directs people to the Eucharist once they start pestering him. He makes it clear that he has no power of his own other than that from God

It is thus not out of place to describe this man as a genius and an enigma. Humble and meek as a dove but hold and vibrant like a lion. He is simply a special gift from God to Catholic Church world over.

Little wonder also why Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN) has blossomed and flourished by leaps and bounds under his leaderships, direction, guidance and mentoring.

Bishop Onaga has just outed himself as a Biafraud. It’s God that made Mbaka who he is.With or without the Parish he is ordained by God. He can actually continue with God’s miracle elsewhere or even outside the Catholic Church. All these bribe taking bishops do not represent the Catholic leity.

Fr mbaka was given 1 year to tidy up in his parish so as to face the ministry squarely cos it’s stressful managing a Parish and the Ministry, but the bishop instead made it 6 yrs bcos of his fatherly love for Fr Mbaka and as well, for the P.site of the Adoration Ministry to be completed, He is attached to a parish for awhile to experiment the new site management.

If Ejike can do it here, he can do it there unless the Spirit is not from God. Going back to Adoration Ground , Emene is better for the Ministry to reduce power tussle and interference . Both sides win. It happened to some Priest before and they excelled. The Hierachy should understand that callings are different and they are only showing power and devilish envy with their actions and comments against their own.

I don’t see his re deployment to be punitive, Father Mbaka has deviated from his calling, his romance with national politics has cost him his hard earned reputation, his new posting should be time for sober reflection and possibly restitution. I praised the leadership of the Catholic church for this painstaking decision and I Challenged other Church leaders to take inference from the Catholic to deal with booth licker on their pulpits in the name of Pastors.

oga pastor i think you need to understand the places you have just quoted. have read tthrough all the old testmant…have u studied the relationship between the John the Baptist and king Herod’s family…have you studied Jesus relationship with pilat…u see remove light from darkness darkness will continu to linger but take light to darkness..darkness will disappear. We all know the truth but for share jealous we fail to admit it. if u are so unconcern about the rate degradation and mass poverty among the youth of this country…if unconcern about the rate at which our graduated youth join occult in order to make the both end meet for lack of job…if you are unconcern about the rate of poverty roaming round the nation…if u are unconcern about how our past leaders and some top tgovernmental officials taken Nigeria as a private property and are keep is as inheritance to their children alone….if u are unconcern…u are unconcern…if you are unconcern about all the evil that is happening in this country and you lack the will power…the moral power and the divine impetus to fight it…please leave Daddy alone…we have been keeping silent many of you are saying nonsence against him…what do u know about God’s gifting and calling…
well Nigerian as a nation needs thousands of Fr Mbaka if Nigeria is going to Change…people who are passionate about their country and think, pray, act and work about the well being of this nation. Elijah left everything and ran into exile just for the love of his nation but when the time is due he came back and killed false prophets that are deceiving Ahab….i don’t blame the pentecostal that are saying all sort of thing against our Daddy cus if it is their pastors they will back it up with one bible quation or the other but instead of so catholics supporting Mbaka they are saying nonsence..shame…Goodluck was always in the house of these pastors they never tell them truth…Obasanjo during his tenor nearly became a pastor yet they naver tell him truth and the pentecostal church members supported their leaders…now Buhari being drawn close to us and Daddy we know is a friend of no man if stop doing the right thing but can praise you to any length if u are doing the right thing. i know he will always tell mr president the truth.
Daddy please ride on we are supporting and praying for you…we will always meet you in the spirit as usual…please don’t mind them, the greatest problem of real prophets is that the people you are fighting are tje people that will always fight against you…..

on isue of your transfer is normal and it is for your own good…you have broken a record as a priest that has stayed in one parish for the longest time. Other parish needed to tap the anointhing…how i wish u will posted in all the parishes in Enugu before u relocate permenantly to permenant site…
Daddy i passionately love you and pray that i receive your trippled anointhing in Jesus name….Amen
      i love umu ikuku…
All that have posted in this site both for or against Daddy…i love u all and God bless u all.

    Don’t criticize anybody.
Remember John d baptist interfered in the government of Herod n was subsequently killed. It is not wrong in any case if a priest interferes in politics. Those who are judging other people should be careful.

They will use a lot of ways to distract him from doing Gods work. But l bet you they shall all be disgraced. He is anointed man of God. Fear did no allow them to pronounce him demoted, instead they posted him without a parish. Watch out how God will promote him.

his anointing and grace is in him not in the parish church building so dis shouldn’t be an issue.

Those saying that he should not partake or let me say caution our loot politicians are to be examined, his transfer is not a big deal, when he was transferred to christ the king parish, the whole place was bushy and he has turned it into paradise now. If it is possible for him to be transfer to sambisa forest in maiduguri, he is going to turn it into a glorious and charisma place that will attract many adorers there. He has been gifted with so many vision. Mark my word today, that adoration place will soon turn to be magnified and glorified place for the children of God. His transfer is normal. His Bishop, onaga did what he suppose to do n to the glory of God. Those envy him should go n sleep becos the good lord is going to bless him more than you will except. Your Enemies Carry rumors, Ignorant people spread them out, Fools also Spread it without confirmation, do not let them tell you how Good their are, let them show you, tomorrow is far, Nothing is Hidden From GOD Almighty. You are Bless for ever. but don’t think about what them says, Just Think About JESUS He is All and All.

Comment… Mind your tongue! Did Mbaka complain abt the transfer? Fr mbaka was given 1 year to tidy up in his parish so as to face the ministry squarely cos it’s stressful managing a Parish and the Ministry, but the bishop instead made it 6 yrs bcos of his fatherly love for Fr Mbaka and as well, for the P.site of the Adoration Ministry to be completed, He is attached to a parish for awhile to experiment the new site management.
And fr mbaka is ever gr8ful.
What u don’t know is dat Mbaka is more important to the Bishop as the son dan you. Catholic church is deeper dan ur small head.

A Catholic priest can be transferred without a parish or a specific post; Mbaka’s calling is beyond that of a parish position.
Persecution is a stepping stone and spring board for the gifted, worry not Mbaka’s God will see him through.
    Ride on Priest of God!!!

The Bishops and Rev Fathers who support Bishop Onaga are envy instead of fasting and praying very well to lift their spiritual affair, they are there playing politics and fighting who God is using to bless his people, All should know that No one above Hell fire, the only person exempted from hell fire is the one who do the will of God ~~ Bro Ngwoke

Comment…do you know I was in tears when i was reading this post, all the things he passed through to be a priest of God? But comments of some people made me to weep more, some people dont even have a conscience because they don’t know how hard it is and what it takes to be a Catholic Priest, its not all about buying suit and renting a shop and establish your ministry it takes prayer, time, money and effort to be a catholic priest because at a slightest mistake you might think its nothing you will be expelled from the seminary school…
To me Mbaka is a priest of God and should not be criticized by anyone.
If you think Mbaka or any other priest you know has averted from his call, the least u could do is to pray for him or keep quiet if u dnt kow wat to say…
What of you, do u think u are good all through…who do u think u are to judge a fellow human being and a God’s chosen one…
