Super Eagles technical adviser, coach Gernot Rohr, has urged late call-ups to take their chances in the absence of injured stars like Victor Moses and Leon Balogun, saying he is gunning for victory against Zambia on Sunday in a World Cup qualifier.
“We go to Zambia to win,” declared a confident Rohr.
“It will be difficult because Zambia has a good team and like the three other teams in our group, any one of us could qualify for the World Cup.
“We watched them against Kenya (in an AFCON qualifier last month) and the pitch in Ndola is not good, but it will be the same for both teams.”
The Franco-German coach said he expects late replacements for injured Victor Moses, Isaac Success and Leon Balogun to take their chance.
“We will be missing Balogun, Victor Moses and Isaac Success, but we’re a team and the other players will have their chances to show their qualities,” he said.
Uche Agbo from Granada CF as well as Nigeria league stars Chisom Egbuchulam and Godwin Obaje were the replacements for the injured call-ups.
