by on September 15, 2017
As Abia State residents grapple with the activities of the military personnel in “Operation Python Dance II”, they were unsettled on Thursday by the rumour that Aba had been invaded by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The rumour which spread like wildfire in the town caused panic among the people. The attackers allegedly attacked a resident of Uratta, killed and razed down his house.
The marauders were alleged to be harassing the residents.
When we visited Aba and Uratta to ascertain the authenticity of the story it was found out that there was no clash between the Hausa and Igbo. It was further gathered there was no herdsmen’s invasion of any form.
In an interview, a resident, Chika Ibeji told this reporter that there was no such incident recorded on Wednesday night as all residents within the neighbourhood slept with their two eyes closed.
