Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, who was recently called up by Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh for the international friendly matches against Congo DR and Cameroon said the gaffer is someone that could bring out the best in him.
Iwobi in a chat with Goal.com revealed that even though he’s elated about being promoted to Arsenal’s first team for this season, he still craves more playing time which will give him an opportunity to show manager Arsene Wenger that he really merited the chance.
“It’s a privilege to be invited to this great Nigerian national team and also to represent my fatherland. I just look forward to playing. I can’t wait to join the Nigerian team for the two friendly matches in Belgium. It is a great honour to put on the Nigerian green-white-green jersey.” The player noted.
The Lagos born player said Oliseh possessed great techniques as a player and is still in awe of him.
“I used to look up to him when I was younger. I knew him to be a great player. He had great technique as a defensive midfielder and he shielded the ball well and took shots too. So I am eager to work with him and I believe he will bring out the best in me.” Iwobi said.
