Former Minister of Education and lead advocate for the Bring Back Our Girls campaign on Friday slammed President Muhammadu Buhari over comments attributed to the President suggesting that Nigerians who gave him 97% of their votes will be better treated than those that gave him 5%.

President Buhari in a session with foreign journalists in Washington DC during his visit to the United States had stated clearly that those who voted for him 97% cannot get the same dividends of his government as those that didn’t vote for him or voted 5%.

But Ezekwesili on Friday took a swipe at President Buhari when she took to her Twitter page stating that “the primary duty of EVERY Government is to improve the quality of life of ALL citizens regardless of their political preferences.”

Ezekwesili was not done yet. Reiterating her earlier position, she noted that even “wailing wailers” – a condescending description of the opposition and critics of President Buhari – an expression coined and made popular by Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina – have a right to full benefits of governance.
