# ImoNorthRerun | Voting on going, Marred by Incidents of Violence

Voting has commenced in the Imo-North Senatorial rerun election.  Accreditation and voting are ongoing simultaneously though there is a low turnout of voters. One of the contestants in the election, Senator Athan Achonu can be seen in the below picture as he undergoes accreditation at  his Polling Unit

The vacant seats for Imo include Okigwe North Senatorial district, Isala Mbano, Oru East and Owerri West state constituencies.

Men of the police mobile force, counter terrorism units and conventional policemen are in their numbers to ensure a hitch-free election.

Former Gov. Ikedi Ohakim voted at his PU 006 umunuma in Osu Owerre ward in Isiala Mbano LGA. There has been reported pockets of violent incidents but in all, the electioneering process is relatively peaceful.
