President Goodluck Jonathan will host the victorious Super Falcons on November 5.
President Jonathan Wednesday received the AWC trophy at the Aso Rock Villa from team captain Evelyn Nwabuoku in company of NFF president Amaju Pinnick and chief coach Edwin Okon and promised to formally host them on November 5. “I want to welcome you girls from Namibia for doing us proud and winning the trophy for a record seven times,” President Jonathan said. “You have done well and I promise that as a nation we will always celebrate you . I am only receiving this trophy from you today, but I will host you girls on November 5.”
The team was led to Aso Rock Villa by NFF president Amaju Pinnick, vice president Seyi Akinwunmi executive member Ahmed ‘Fresh’ and president of the Nigeria football supporters club Rafiu Ladipo.
Meanwhile, the players and team officials have been paid all their entitlements accruing from their participation at the AWC.
