Jumoke Akindele Remains Ondo’s Speaker

The Ondo state House of Assembly members on Wednesday reversed the purported impeachment on the Speaker of the house Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele and other principal officers of the house.

The Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon. Olamide George, made this disclosure while briefing newsmen at the cocoa conference hall Governor’s office in Akure.

“A sizeable number of the House of Assembly members have met on some burning and touching issues today and thereby agreed that, the House of Assembly remains united, cohesive and alive to its constitutional responsibilities. However, the issue of leadership of the house is an internal affairs and has been treated as such” Hon. George said.

Hon. George appealed to political jobbers not to heighten political tension in the state as he stressed that, there was no crisis or division within members of the state House of Assembly.

It would be recalled ‎that 18 members of the house late last night announced the sacking of the speaker and other principal officers of the hallowed chamber.
