The primary election for Katsina North senatorial district ticket of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) turned dramatic yesterday as one of the 12 aspirants , Kabir Ahmed Abdullahi , withdrew midway into the race , saying the primary commenced ahead of schedule.

While speaking with newsmen during the primary , Abdullahi , claimed that it was announced that the voting exercise would commence by 8 am yesterday but he was shocked that it started around 2 am.

“ On my arrival , I found that the election was already in progress and I was not informed of the development . So, I was left with no option but to withdraw from the race , said Ahmed even as he appealed to his supporters to maintain the peace .
