The President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kayode Obembe, has been elected Council Adviser of the World Medical Association (WMA).
He was elected at the recently concluded WMA 200th Council Session held in Oslo, Norway.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Publicity and Publication Committee NEC-NMA, Dr. Obitade Obimakinde, in Abuja on Monday, April 27, 2015.
Also, a Nigerian doctor, Daniel Gbujie, was formally presented to the WMA Council, as the Awardee of Junior Doctors Network having made the best presentation in the competition among junior doctors.
With these achievements recorded by the NMA, there is however indications that Nigeria may be accorded the hosting right for African Regional Summit of WMA soon.
