The Lagos State House of Assembly Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency 02, Hon. Jude Emeka Idimogu has debunked the news published by a national daily on Wednesday, that he and other PDP lawmakers in the state assembly are set to decamp to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, saying he is not a party to such move.
Idimogu stated this in a press statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Lagos, on Wednesday.
Idimogu who is the only Igbo legislator in the assembly said he is not in a hurry to move to APC.
He said he is still in the PDP, noting that he has no any plan to move to any other political party for now.
The Nation newspaper reported that the six PDP lawmakers in the state asembly are set to defect to the APC after months of horse trading and negotiations.
The report also said that the defection is in connection with the crisis rocking the PDP both in the state and at the national levels.
Idimogu said that there Is no impossibility in the defection as reported but said he still remains a loyal member of the PDP.
“We have not defected yet. We are all still in the PDP to the best of my knowledge. I know there is crisis in our party, infact, there is crisis in all political parties even in APC, but we are yet to move, we are still with our party. If we want to move, it will be carry out at the floor of the House or through a press conference, all the reports so far should be counted as rumours.” He posited.
