Peace may have returned to the Lagos chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday calmed frayed nerves at a meeting with top leaders of the party in Lagos State.
Information made available to BREAKING TIMES reveals that President Jonathan assured all gubernatorial aspirant at the meeting of a level playing ground devoid of the party’s or any external interference.
According to a source at the meeting who spoke to BREAKING TIMES on condition of anonymity, President Jonathan’s assurance was greeted with widespread commendation from Lagos PDP chieftains and the gubernatorial aspirants present at the meeting.
Over one hundred leaders of the party in Lagos State attended the meeting. Some of the aspirants at the meeting include Deji Doherty, Babatunde Gbadamosi, Jimi Agbaje and Ade Dosunmu, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the 2011 election. Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and PDP Board of Trustees member Chief Olabode George amongst other chieftains of the party were at the meeting.
