Nick Cannon confirmed in August that he and Mariah Carey had separated after living apart for a few months.
And on Wednesday the 34-year-old actor attended the New York premiere of film Addicted, where he opened up to Extra! reporter A.J. Calloway about how he is dealing with post-split life.
‘I’m just taking everything one day at a time and just being the best person that I can possibly be at the end of the day,’ he said.
He assured A.J. that Monroe and Moroccan, the six-year-old twins he shares with Mariah, are ‘doing great’ adding: ‘They’re doing amazing, they’re on the road right now with mommy on tour so they’re having a good time, it’s all love, man.’
Mariah’s estranged husband also gallantly defended the superstar singer from reports that she had vocal issues at her recent concert in Japan, saying ‘I just wish her nothing but the best, we’re in contact constantly.
‘You know you might have an off night here and there, but she’s one of the greatest performers and entertainers of all time, she’s not worried, we’re not worried, just going to keep pushing.’
One of the things he’s pushing ahead with is the replacement of the Mariah tattoo on his back with a bigger piece of work.
