MADNESS: Buhari, Ezekwesili and Boko Haram’s Shekau on TIME’s 100

by on April 17, 2015

Nigeria’s President-elect, Maj.  Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has been named in the TIME Magazine annual 100 influential people in the world list for 2015.

Buhari made the list for being the first in Africa to defeat an incumbent president in an election.

Buhari, it would be recalled, defeated incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan in the election held on March 28.

Also, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, made the list due to her role in the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, while a novelist, Chimamanda Adiche also made the list due to her literary prowess.

However, the Boko Haram sect leader, Abubakar Shekau, made the list for being the “scourge of Africa”.

Also in the list are President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Barack and Michele Obama of the United States of America; King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un; Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu; German chancellor, Angela Merkel as well as entertainment stars like Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift.
