District administration and health department Sahiwal launch campaign against measles and rubella

Sahiwal (The Breaking Times – 13 November 2021 – Director Public Relations) Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal has inaugurated the immunization campaign from 15 to 27 November.

The district administration has been given the target of injecting one and a half million children between the ages of 9 months and 15 years during the campaign.

During the campaign, children from birth to 5 years of age will also be vaccinated against polio. DC Sahiwal has launched the campaign by vaccinating children at Government Haji Abdul Qayyum Hospital.

After the inauguration ceremony, the participants conducted an awareness walk led by the Deputy Commissioner. Health CEO Dr. Abdul Majeed Niazi, Health Officers, Employees and Media attended. The Deputy Commissioner also distributed awareness pamphlets among the citizens about the campaign.

The district administration has appealed to parents to protect their children from diseases by injecting them with immunizations.

Deputy Commissioner has said that healthy children are the hope of our bright future, the health department should ensure the achievement of the set target.

Measles and rubella prevention campaign is underway in Sahiwal, Chichawatni and Arifwala by the district government. On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Pakpattan Ahmar Sohail Kefi, Assistant Commissioner Azhar Tariq Wattoo have visited various schools and reviewed the arrangements.

MS Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Arifwala Dr. Asif Jalis have also visited different areas including the hospital. 489 teams have been formed for the campaign, with officials from the health department and other relevant departments taking part.

People should cooperate with government teams in this campaign and get their children vaccinated as much as possible to prevent this epidemic.
