Messi asks Coach to drop Andre Gomes

Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has reportedly told Barcelona coaching crew that he does not want to play with Andre Gomes against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea who are the reigning Premier League champions will host Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 first tie on Tuesday night, February 20.

And according to report by Don Balon, Lionel Messi who is expected to start against Chelsea has discussed Barca’s possible line-up with coach Ernesto Valverde.

The report stated that Lionel Messi has told Barcelona coach that he does not want to be on the same pitch with the Portuguese international who has not scored a goal this season for the Catalans.

Gomes, 24, has started four La Liga games this season for Barcelona and was left out of the Barcelona team that faced Eibar in their last game.

Lionel Messi has faced Chelsea eight times with 29 shots without scoring a single goal against the Stamford Bridge landlords.
