Moses out as Bazee, Ikeme, Iwobi, others hit Super Eagles camp for Senegal, Burkina Faso friendly

The Royal Crown, London hotel camp of the Super Eagles has continued to swell to action as about eight players have so far arrived ahead of today’s commencement of training for the two international friendly matches against Senegal and Burkina Faso.

A total of eight players are already in the Super Eagles lodge at the Crown Plaza hotel in London just as more players are expected to join before the filling of this report..

The games which will be played at Barnet Stadium popularly called The Hive will see Nigeria take on Senegal on the 23rd of March before tackling Burkina Faso, four days later at same venue.

The early arrivals in camp include Ogenyi Onazi, Isacc Success, Carl Ikeme, Noah Sarenren Bazee, Alex Iwobi and Chidozie Awaziem.

The team will however commence training today instead of yesterday as earlier scheduled by the Coach, Gernot Rohr.

Meanwhile the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Chelsea defence wing back, Victor Moses will be missing in action as the eagles file out for the two friendly matches, even though the federation assured that the Chelsea playmaker will be at the teams camp to support his colleagues

Moses picked up an injury in the Blues’ 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup a week ago and was reportedly set to miss up to three weeks of action.

However, he started for Chelsea in their win over Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday, suggesting that he will be just fine to feature for Nigeria in their friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso..

NFF general Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi confirmed that Chelsea had officially written the NFF demanding that Moses be excused from the two friendly matches, citing injury.

Sanusi further stated that the London club also attached a copy of Moses’s MRS scan result to authenticate their position, insisting that the player is undertaking treatment for an injury he sustained while in action for Chelsea.

“Yes they wrote to us, informing us that Victor Moses in injured. They also attached a result of the MRS scan he took. So we have no choice but to excuse him so that he can recover fully and be fit for future games. I I hope he will be still join the team since he is already in London to support his colleagues”, Sanusi stated.
