Nigerian Military authorities have disclaimed reports that Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau or his clone, said to have been killed in Konduga last month by Nigerian troops, is alive.
Shekau reportedly announced his earthly presence, via the medium he has been using for effect to taunt Nigerian authorities in a new video obtained by the AFP.
A top military source who spoke to BREAKING TIMES on condition of anonymity disclaimed the video as a pre-recorded version of Shekau’s usual taunts while he was still alive.
“Of course, it is evident that Shekau and those behind him had knowledge of his possible death or capture and recorded this video to be released in the aftermath of his death. The death of Shekau has thrown the terrorist camp into confusion and this move is an attempt to reawaken confidence in the Shekau myth”, the source stated.
