Niger Delta militants declare Support for Buhari

The leadership of all the former Niger Delta Militants in the region have pledged their support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s policy on Agricultural Em­powerment Programmes for beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Pro­gramme.
The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Del­ta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Pro­gramme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Rtd), extracted the commitment from the ex agitators when he meet the leadership of ex-agita­tors across the region in Be­nin, the Edo state capital.
Gen Boroh (rtd) had dis­closed that already about 200 ex agitators have suc­cessfully been trained and empowered on enhanced agriculture at the National Biotechnology Develop­ment Center, in Odi, Bay­lesa State, while some others have been empowered with starter packs, to start their own farms.
The Presidential Amnesty Programme has in recent times, focused on training and empowering beneficia­ries in Agricultural activities.
Pastor Ruben Wilson, a leading former militant leader in the region, at the meeting commended Gen­eral Boroh for his unbiased coordination of the amnesty programme, noting that under Boroh’s watch the Amnesty Programme has transformed from a political tool, to a well coordinated reintegration platform for the repentant agitators of the Niger Delta region.
The ex agitators has unan­imously resolved to pro­tect the sovereignty of the country and expose anyone found vandalizing oil and gas installations within their communities.
The Presidential Adviser also commended the ex-ag­itators for their patience and perseverance and promised Federal Government’s com­mitment to improving the lives of all beneficiaries and youths in the region at large.
